Health Spa Organizations
Important Instructions
To assist with the health spa registration, please carefully review the Health Spa Facility Application Instruction Sheet, the Health Spa Services Protection Act and the Administrative Rules.
A Health Spa is defined by Utah Code § 13-23-2(5) as a business enterprise that provides access to a facility for a charge or a fee and for the development or preservation of physical fitness or well-being through exercise, weight control, or athletics.
A health spa may not operate a health spa facility in this state unless the health spa registers the health spa facility with the Division of Consumer Protection. Additionally, each health spa must obtain and maintain a surety bond, letter of credit, or certificate of deposit, unless exempt pursuant to § 13-23-6.
